CLENCH YOUR THIRST WITH OUR TOP FIVE COCKTAIL RECIPES

Need a delicious beverage to clench your thirst during the festive season? How about five? I don't know about you, but I tend to have an extreme thirst for cocktails around this time of year. So I thought I would share with you five of my favourite cocktail recipes made with Australia's finest spirits. Clench your thirst in style this summer and sip on a smooth, cold and well balanced cocktail. Make, sip and Enjoy!

The Expresso Martini - made with Mr Black Cold Drip Coffee Liquor 

Method:  1 part of Mr. Black, 1.5 parts of vodka and 1 part of espresso, with a bar spoon simple syrup. Shake with vigour to develop a thick crema. Recipe found here Screen Shot 2015-12-15 at 12.21.44 pm
 

Moonshine Mojito - made with Crazy Uncle Moonshine

  • 1 cup ice cups
  • 60ml Crazy Uncle Moonshine
  • 2tsp raw sugar
  • 1/2 lime cut into wedges
  • Handful of mint leaves
  • Soda.
Method: Wack the lime, mint and sugar in the bottom of a sturdy glass and bash them up with the end of a rolling pin. Add Moonshine and ice and top with soda. Recipe found here Moonshine-Mojito  

Frozen Negroni - made with Four Pillars Gunpowder Proof Gin

  • 135ml gin (I used Four Pillars)
  • 75ml Campari
  • 75ml Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
  • 3 cups ice (add more if you like it thicker)
  • Orange peel, for garnish
Method:  Combine the gin, Campari, and vermouth in an airtight container and freeze for at least 8 hours and up to 3 days. When you are ready to make your frozen Negroni, add the chilled alcohol and ice to a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into rocks glasses. Garnish with orange peel and serve immediately. Four Pillars and a fizz - made with Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin

  • 45 mL Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin
  • 15mL Averna
  • 30mL Blood Orange Juice
  • Soda Water
  • Rosemary to garnish
Method:  Mix the gin, Averna and blood orange juice over ice in a highball glass, then charge with soda before garnishing with a sprig of fresh rosemary. Recipe found here 012-2  

The Dead Man's Drop Rum Sour - made with Dead Man's Drop

  • 1.5 x Dead Man’s Drop black spiced rum
  • 1 x lemon juice – that’s about half a lemon
  • 1 x simple syrup
  • 3 x splashes of chocolate bitters
  • 3 x teaspoons of egg white (optional)
Method:  1.  Shake ingredients with plenty of ice or stir vigorously until you see a head forming the shaker. 2.  Pour into a cocktail glass or into a tumbler over a large ice cube. Recipe found here Mr-Mrs-Romance-Dead-Mans-Drop-14-cocktail-and-ingredients-landscape
